THE COLLIDER MACHINE

karl bucher ag PERELMANseries

THE CONCEPT

A vertical particle collider which minimizes its divergences with different time standards.

THE DESIGN

The design should convey the thought of time.

THE CASE

Grown over time, sustainable, conceptualized and realized with reference to unique high-end craftsmanship together with our cooperation partner.

Surfaces in mirrored walnut burl real wood veneer. Executed on three levels in a Dirichlet decomposition in points that define the spaces between them.

Copper shielded display zone.

Three wing doors, invisibly closed with badge locking system.

Ring bezel in walnut solid wood tangentially divided into 12 segments. The back is 12-segment tangentially veneered in walnut and has a milled Dirichlet decomposition.

The internal vertical radial hull rips are solid walnut. All surfaces inside as well as outside are transparent high gloss lacquered.

THE ATOMIC CLOCK

The standard output frequency of the first rubidium reference (MIL-SPEC) in the low 10-12 range (ADEV | 1 sec) is routed clockwise over the length of 631 cm in a circle.

The standard output frequency of the second rubidium reference in the low 10-12 range (ADEV | 1 sec) is conducted counterclockwise over the length of 631 cm in a circle.

At the interface, the two standard frequencies collide in the cross-correlator. A new standard frequency is created without divergence of the two output standard clocks.

This whole unit forms the basic clock of the atomic clock.

For the start-up procedure and the readout of the coordinated atomic clock time under consideration of the earth rotation (MSF/GBZ with dUT 1), as well as the basic clock for the entire logic and its algorithm, an oven-controlled crystal reference in the low 10-12 range (ADEV | 1 sec) is responsible. This clock unit performs its work in a separate zone in the atomic clock.

This unit forms the auxiliary clock.

THE OPERATING STATUS INDICATOR

An original flywheel unit from the tri-axial inclination control system of the UKube-1 satellite of the AAC Clyde Space Laboratory. The torque positioning reaction wheel acts in non-stop operation as a widely readable supply indicator and filter for the atomic clockworks (physics and electronics packages).

THE DISPLAY SYSTEM

Dual system in blocks, placed in ascending order (seconds, minutes, hours, days, months, years). Within each block arranged in reverse sequenced descending number units. Each number unit exclusively recognizes only the two operating states on (1) and off (0).

THE POWER SUPPLY

An analog power supply with a toroidal transformer and cascades of supercapacitors for the master clock 1, master clock 2, auxiliary clock, decimal display system, binary master display system, cross correlator and control board is installed.

Another analog power supply with a toroidal transformer and cascades of supercapacitors is installed for the original flywheel unit from the tri-axial inclination control system from the UKube-1 satellite as well as its servo controller.
